Lukum (from the Turkish lokum meaning "piece") or raha halkum (from Arabic literally meaning "the contentment of the throat"), is one of the oldest confectionery in the world. Based on starch and sugar, Turkish lokum or raha are often flavoured with rose water and garnished with dry rose petals.
